MBK Week 10 Fantasy Football Newsletter

Welcome to the late edition of the week 10 MFL newsletter.

Only two weeks remain in the MFL regular season, we are down to crunch time. The next two weeks will determine who takes home the AFC and NFC conference championship, as well as determine which teams will be qualifying for the post-season and which teams are going home.

A quick reminder about some of the league’s payouts:

And a quick reminder about the format of the playoffs:

Let’s recap what went down in week 10 …

David vs. Goliath

The commish and his squad are just looking to get the offseason as quick as possible. The last thing they needed was a date with the NFC’s best Dalvin and the Chipmunks. It seems with every loss more and more questions surface as to what coach Miele was trying to achieve during his draft process.

On the other side of the ball, Dalvin and the Chipmunks cruised to a league best 9-1 record with solid performances from Mike Evans Kareem Hunt. However prior to kickoff it was made aware that he made the decision to leave his top WR Adam Thielen on the bench.

“Adam has been a stud all year, we want him at 100% heading into the postseason. He deserved this week off and we knew we could take the W without him.” Claimed the confident coach following the backlash for such a move.

A Swift Victory

Team Stu/John Pol managed to get in the win column this week following big performances from RB D’Andre Swift and QB Josh Allen. This crucial win comes despite having two goose eggs in the starting lineup and a lousy performance from WR Michael Thomas, while also leaving monster points on the bench.

It was an opportunity wasted from Team STR who found themselves coming up empty handed for the second week in a row. The media was pressing for answers regarding the status of WR Cole Beasley and the decision to keep him on the bench. Both managers declined to comment on the Bills WR, but left this comment.

“The week 10 result was unfortunate but it is one that is now behind us. We know we need to win these next two games and that is now where our mindset is at.”

HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS?

Despite leaving huge points on the bench, Team Cowboys were able to pull out an important win against Le Gordo. It was a dogfight for most of Sunday until a big touchdown from RB Ronald Jones iced the playoff hopeful Le Gordo squad, who had two goose eggs in their starting lineup.

“We have been decimated with injuries all year. It is something we have been trying to work around but it was ultimately the difference this week.” Said coach Mills to the press.

TOO CLOSE TO CALL, A BROTHERS CLASH

Going into the Monday nighter the league was on upset alert as the league’s worst, Franchise 14, was in the driver’s seat looking to take down one of the AFC’s powerhouses in Under the Radar. RB Dalvin Cook was the only player left to play and it took all the way until a few minutes left in the 4th quarter for him to take the lead back for his squad.

The final score was 96.90 – 95.60

“There was no doubt Dalvin was going to pull this out for us…he’s our guy.” asserted a confident coach Pat.

There were reports of animosity in the Benigno household over the weekend, although none confirmed. We were able to get a comment from the losing brother Stefano.

“I know so much more about football than Pat, it’s not even funny.”

THE ENTOURAGE UPSETS

Matty P’s entourage snaps a multi-week losing streak by taking down the AFC’s best Sfroz’it and Refroz’it.

Week 11 Marquee Matchups

With only two weeks remaining in the MFL regular season it is getting down to crunch time. Here are your marquee matchups heading into week 11.

SHINETIME vs LE GORDO

Two NFC playoff-bound clubs are looking to leapfrog the standings for all important playoff seeding. A win or loss this week could be the difference between clashing with a heavyweight or getting an easy first round matchup.

“We don’t care who we are playing or what the circumstances are, we go at 110% effort every week.” Said coach Gianacce to the press.

Le Gordo initially declined to comment on the importance to this week’s matchup, he then stated “If we fall this week we might have to change our name again for next week’s game”

DAK BISCOTT vs DALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS

The two heavyweights of the NFC meet just two weeks before the big dance and according to one manager all is but settled in the standings.

“We’ve got a big opportunity this week. A win here can put us in prime position to take the NFC championship.” said coach DiLucia wearing a Josh Jacobs jersey.

Dalvin and the chipmunks on the other hand, seems unfazed by the stakes at hand after another week of smooth sailing to another victory.

“Who are we playing again this week?”

SFROZ’IT AND REFROZ’IT vs  JOE DEPAULO’S MISFITS

An ugly loss this week to the AFC’s best gave a shock that was felt throughout the whole locker room.

One reporter heard a voice come from the locker room that sounded like Alvin Kamara. “How many points do I have to score?!”

They will look to bounce back and secure the AFC crown against an up and coming threat in the AFC who is looking to prove themselves as a playoff contender

“This week is a test for our locker room, we know we can roll with the best teams in this league and we are out to prove it.” Said a confident Coach Joe

UNDER THE RADAR vs BANCHERI/VITS

Over the past several weeks Team Under the Radar has emerged as a serious Super Bowl contender, winning their last four matches in a row and knocking on the door of an AFC title.

“I’m coming for you frozen, frozit, refroz’it, whatever your damn name is.” Hollard a confident coach Benigno on his way to the locker room following last week’s win.

They will be taking on one team that is on the outside looking in, Bancheri/Vits, who got back in the win column in week 10 and like their chances of securing a spot in the postseason.

“The playoffs start for us this week, this is a must win and our boys know it. Under the Radar better bring their best because they’re gonna need it.”
